As I explained, we parked the van at the entrance of the port of Larros because a sign prevented the passage to unauthorized vehicles and, without delaying too much, we went for a walk to know the town and buy some supplies.

Gujan-Mestras far exceeded our expectations and the walk along the coast was very pleasant. As the sun went down the landscape became more spectacular, the mix of colors was beautiful. The green of its vegetation contrasted with the blue of the sea that reflected the orange and reddish tones of the sky as the sun went down.

From the coast, the port where we had left our van looked so beautiful that we started to get curious to see what was behind that sign of forbidden passage. The truth is that from the outside it was not a big deal. It was full of large oyster stores surrounded by the typical tools of the fishermen and this made it look a bit disheveled. As the port entrance did not seem interesting to me and I do not have a photo of this area to show you.

What we were sure of was that it was a quiet place to spend the night, since we only saw a French woman walking with her dog, and this is one of the factors that we usually value at the time of choosing a parking for sleeping.

As I mentioned, our only concern was the amount of mosquitoes that were waiting for us in the stagnant waters of the dock where we were stationed. To this, we added our curiosity to see the port more closely, so we decided to skip the sign of forbidden passage to discover what was behind.

When we reached the end of the port we were impressed with the views, I had never seen anything like it! I remember sitting there, watching the last few minutes of the sun, and we realized how lucky we are to have sights like this every day. People save all their lives to buy a house with views of the sea or the mountain, either as a holiday home or as a regular home, but once they get it, they must always settle for the same landscape. We, on the other hand, can enjoy a different sunrise and sunset each day. Could we be more fortunate?
