Africa #14: Cape Agulhas and Hermanus | Cliff Path
On the way to Cape Town you can make a short detour to the point where two oceans meet: Cape Agulhas.
You can drive till the lighthouse where you find a parking lot.
Lighthouse at Agulhas
From there it is about one mile footpath to the southernmost point of the continent. The trail is pretty nice. At Cape Agulhas you will find a sign where the Indian Oceans meets the Atlantic Ocean. Since there is nothing else to see, we went back in town and had some really delicious fish and chips. The trip to Cape Agulhas is nice, but it’s nothing you need to have on your bucket list.

A short (or maybe longer) stop should be Hermanus. Since you have to drive through this beautiful town with its stunning scenery anyway, you should take a stop there for sure. A few miles before you reach the town the Cliff Path begins.
You can enter this part at almost any point, there are parking lots everywhere. When you come near Hermanus, there will be plenty of cafes, where you can make a rest and enjoy the ocean. In September you can spot whales!
Next stop: Cape Town
