The Valley of Fire, Nevada is just a short day trip about an hour away from the bustle of the Las Vegas strip. The vast amounts of red sandstone and different formation makes you feel like you are on another planet! It is worth the drive. This rock in particular looks like bacon.

@polebird What a stunning place, seems so surreal. I've actually been to Las Vegas/Grand Canyon, but unfortunately missed out on that one! Next time hopefully :)
