Old pumphouse
Half of the Netherlands is below sea level. We turned water into land by building lots of dikes and pumping the water out with pumps like this one. It's still functional, but hasn't been used in quit some time.

Hopefully, the Netherlands survive the rising oceans. What over measures do they have for subduing the ocean?
We have natural sanddunes and lots of man-made dykes to keep the water out. We 've been fighting the water for a few hundred years now and have become pretty proficient at it 😁.
