This post marks the beginning of a 7 part series i would like sharing with you guys. The series, seven images taken with the theme of escapism in mind, will explore the feeling of escaping the stress and or pressure that comes with our daily lives. I feel like sharing this series now because i believe that i would intertwine beautifully with my other series i started a couple of days ago called ominaus where we visualize certain emotions and (mental) illnesses.
Escapism, also known as detachment and distraction from the real world allowing you to escape from the emotions or circumstances overwhelming you. Doing this gives you the opportunity to calm down, "recharge your batteries" before dealing with the things overwhelming you. This is necessary. Without it, the stresses we deal with in our everyday life would just be too much and can result in feeling depressed or burnt out.
Everyone escapes, for some its reading a book letting your mind wander off in the story, For others its going for a lengthy drive or watching a movie. It doesn't really matter what you do. What matters most is allowing yourself to escape.

yes - photography is my escapism, even sometimes i take a camera and going to the massive high human-density places, but still have this feeling of a border between me and all the whole world :-)
Photography is defiantly my escape too! It gives me the possibility to create my own world..(kind of)..and that for sure helped me through some harder times. I find that listening to music while taking pictures also helps! (at-least for me it does haha) Thanks for commenting! Really appreciate it!
