Mount Mitchell, Highest Peak East of the Rockies!

We went on a trip to the top of Mount Mitchell, in the NC Blue Ridge Mts., with some of our family, and it was a perfect day! It was the first day in a couple of weeks that it didn't rain, and since Mount Mitchell is 6,684 feet above sea level, it was much cooler. There were clouds swirling around us, and gorgeous views of miles of blue mountains, especially when we reached the summit. We parked near the museum & gift shop, and then walked up a 1/4 mile paved trail up to the amazing summit of Mount Mitchell! All around us were beautiful wildflowers, Douglas Fir Trees, and many other species that are also native to Canada. Later we had a delicious dinner at the Mount Mitchell Restaurant where there are wonderful mountain and evergreen tree views! 💖!IMG_20180816_154851860.jpg]()
