Mountainlandscapes with Mountainlakes at the Grossglockner
As you might already know I like to visit the Grossglockner for hiking trips and photography trips. I take a lot of pictures of landscapes, birds, marmottes, animals like the capricorn and deer. But also Macrophotography of butterflies and insects is possible there. Especially during the summer when it is hot in the valleys it can still be very cold up there on 2000 meters +. This is why it is a lot easier to see some birds, and other animal outside than in the valleys since a lot of them avoid hot weather and try to spend the warm time of the day somewhere hidden.
Down in the valleys the best time in summer is always early in the morning and in the evening before the sun sets, but during the day most of the time it is pretty difficult to spot animals, not so up there in the mountains where it is colder. This is one reason I like to visit the mountains in summer, the other reason is that these mountain landscapes combined with some glaciers always look very interesting on the pictures.

Because I have already done numerous hiking trips in the last few years and always stay one week in Mittersill for a hiking holiday, I was able to take a lot of beautiful pictures of mountainlandscapes and mountain lakes like these. When I see these pictures I also always remember the efforts it took me to get up there. OK there are some places where you can get by cable car or by car but on other spot you really need to hike for hours to get there. And after a long hike I really enjoy sleeping in a good bed. Of course we plan our trips so we have enough time to take pictures and enjoy the nature up there, so we often only plan a trip that would take 4-5 hours and we are using the whole day for it since we know that we will be taking a lot of breaks for some pictures. May it be pictures of landscapes or of animals or flowers that we find on the way.
