Plitvice Falls, Croatia

Never ending cascades of water in this magical, fairy-tale place. I would love to revisit the Falls in winter when there is nobody around and the entire place is covered in snow.

My advice if you are planning to visit during the super busy summer season: spend the night at an accommodation very near the National Park and get a half day pass. That way you can enter the Park the next morning right away starting at 7am. You will have the Park mostly to yourself to enjoy until about 9:00-9:30; that's when all the tour buses arrive from Zagreb and the place becomes a chaotic mess. Very narrow wooden pathways are the only way to circulate around the park, so you can imagine what it's like getting stuck behind a VERY long line of slow moving people all day long until about 4pm. Trust me on this :) I had to learn it the hard way.
