Of course, I could say that is was clever photography. (Who doesn't want to make clever images...).
But the beaches of most of the Wadden islands are impressively large. It makes you feel small. It took another photograph on the same place, but looking to the right:

You can see my son and daughter walking on the beach. We were rather early on the beach on a Monday morning and there was nobody yet.
