The photos were taken at the River Trail Nature Center, 3120 Milwaukee Ave in Northbrook, Illinois. This is in Cook County, northwest of Chicago. It is part of the Cook County Forest Preserve District.

To make the photos I used a Nikon Coolpix P7700 camera with a Hoya R72 Infrared filter. The panorama is composed of four images which were stitched together using Photoshop Elements 12.1. I used the Auto setting with the remove vignetting option.

For the color infrared version I used GIMP 2.8.6 to auto-correct the color balance and switch red and blue channels.

The black and white conversion was also done using Elements 12.1. I boosted the contrast slightly.
