My point of view for the following pictures was Berg im Gau, about 12 km as the crow flies south of Neuburg. We look over a large part of the Danube moss. The hills on the right are already far behind Ingolstadt and thus about 25 km away. From the end of the 18th century, the moss was laid dry and cultivated. The main burden of this work was carried by prisoners, who were then allowed to settle there.

Several times a year we still have some stabbing in the area, which we from the city naturally derive to its past. The corn harvest is now in full swing and we can see the harvester at work on the first two pictures. Within minutes, whole wagonloads are filled and transported away.

Mein Standpunkt für die folgenden Aufnahmen war Berg im Gau, etwa 12 km Luftlinie südlich von Neuburg. Wir blicken über einen großen Teil des Donaumooses. Die Hügel auf der rechten Seite sind bereits weit hinter Ingolstadt und damit über 25 km entfernt. Ab Ende des 18.Jahrhunderts wurde das Moos trokengelegt und kultiviert. Die Haupflast dieser Arbeiten trugen Strafgefangene, die sich anschließend dort niederlassen durften.

Noch heute haben wir mehrmals im Jahr ingendwelche Messerstechereien in dem Gebiet, was wir aus der Stadt natürlich auf deren Vergangenheit zurückführen. Die Maisernte ist nun in vollem Gange und wir können auf den beiden ersten Bildern den Vollernter bei der Arbeit sehen. Innerhalb von Minuten werden ganze Wagenladungen gefüllt und abtransportiert.

With almost clear skies around noon a few clouds are visible. These arise over the Danube and mark so from far away the white sausage equator.

Bei fast klarem Himmel um die Mittagszeit sind doch ein paar Wolken zu sehen. Diese entstehen über der Donau und markieren so von weitem sichtbar den Weißwurstäquator.

A cabbage white attracted my attention for a short time and I left this place to capture for you more impressions from my home photographically.

Ein Kohlweißling zog für kurze Zeit meine Aufmerksamkeit auf sich und ich verließ diesen Ort um für Euch weitere Eindrücke aus meiner Heimat fotographisch festzuhalten.
