The lagoon is of glacial origin and is about ten thousand years old. The original course of the Mucubají creek, which drained its waters in the Chama River, was sealed by a frontal morain that formed the lagoon and crossed by the Boconó fault, which diverted the flow towards the Orinoco river and finally the Atlantic Ocean .

FantasticVenezuela @futurodrsosa, did you visit recently or do you live there?
I lived and worked in El Yaque, Isla Margarita for four and a half years, best time of my life where I also met my lovely wife @Yurodidit . Asap it is possible we'll move back there to build our dream house.
