The following is about testing laboratory materials

Concrete structures can be defined as concrete buildings located on land that use reinforcement or do not use reinforcement (ACI 318-89, 1990: I-I). The structure of the concrete is strongly influenced by the composition and quality of concrete mixing materials limited by the ability of the compressive strength of the concrete (in a state of compression). It also depends on the ability of the soil bearing capacity (supported by soil) the ability of other structures or the ability of the structure above (vertical support).

JOB I WEIGHT VOLUME AGGREGATE

Basic theory
Aggregate volume weight is reviewed in two circumstances, ie, loose volume weight and solid volume weight. The weight of the loose volume is the ratio of the weight of the aggregate to the volume of the literan, while the weight of the solid volume is the ratio of the weight of the aggregate in the solid state to the volume of the liter.
According to British Standard 812, the weight of a good aggregate volume for the concrete material has a value greater than 1445 kg / m³. the weight of aggregate volume can be calculated using the formula:

Aggregate Volume Weight = = kg / m³
Description: D = Weight objects
A = Volume of container

Equipment and Materials
Equipment used :

  1. Dryer (oven)

  1. Steel containers

  2. Roughlings

  3. Aggregate filler scoops / spoons

  4. Scales

Work steps

  1. The test piece is loaded into the container as much as the container capacity

  2. Then the specimen is dried by oven for 24 hours at a temperature (110 ± 5) 0C until the weight becomes fixed to be used as a specimen.

a. Determination of loose volume weight (volume weight in loose state)

  1. The container is weighed empty.
  2. Then the container is filled with the specimen slowly.

  1. The weight of the test specimen (D) is calculated by the formula D = C - B.
  2. Then the container volume is calculated (A).

b. Determination of solid volume weight (volume weight in circumstances of stabbing).

  1. The working procedure is the same as the weight of the loose volume but on the determination of the solid volume weight at the time the container is filled with the specimen, before flattening the specimen stabbed first for the solid test object 15x each layer.

2.7 Calculation Data
Aggregate Volume Weight = = kg / m³
Description: D = Weight objects
A = Volume of container

5.2.5 Occupational Safety

  1. Pray before and after doing the work
  2. Sodium hydroxide is a strong base, avoid exposure to body parts
  3. Be careful in doing this research, because the equipment is made of fragile materials
  4. Focus on the work
  5. Follow the instructor's instructions
  6. Use the tool in accordance with its function
  7. Use a mask covering the nose and mouth during this experiment to avoid dust entry
  8. Do not joke at work
