Kuah Beulangong original taste of ACEH curry food II Topic #5

Hello Everyone.

Kuah Beulangong is a type of curry dish that uses beef or mutton as the main menu in this Kuah Belangong. This dish does not only have meat in it but there is also a mixture of other ingredients such as jackfruit, bananas, and banana stem as well as other spices for seasoning to enrich the flavor of the dish.

Basically, the Cooking Kuah Belangong activity is held during the celebration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday. Moreover, the community will be very happy if they celebrate it together rather than one by one. This is because the celebration of the Prophet's birthday is an important holiday for Muslims around the world, including Aceh in especially.

Besides, Villagers usually prepare the obligatory menu to welcome guests from other villages. Acehnese people have a very strong tradition of "Peumulia Jamee" which means in this tradition they serve Kuah Bulangong dishes to welcome their guests from other areas. Kuah Beulangong is a typical Acehnese curry cooked in a cauldron and made with meat and young jackfruit as a side dish.
What is unique is that his curry is cooked directly by men, not by women. This no need to be surprised, because cooking Kuah Beulangong requires a large pot and a lot of energy at the same time. In addition, the stirring process also requires additional energy that refers to men.

On the other hand, my friends and I conduct to cook Kuah Belangong on the anniversary annually of our Badminton Club. Thus, we are so happy and enthusiastic to celebrate it. Because the value of cooking this Kuah Belangong is not only for cooking together but also as togetherness or bonding among friends become family. Even though all of us are coming from different backgrounds but having this event makes us solid to do it together. Moreover, all of us are men that easily manage all the food. We cook this Kuah Belangong in one of our friend's houses (Khairul), he provides all of this event so it becomes easier also freely to cook in the house rather than in a public space.

Hopefully, we're able to conduct this event every year.
