"I'd rather go blind" foi lançada em 1967, uma parceria de Etta James e Ellington Jordan, se tornando um ícone do Blues e do Soul. Décadas mais tarde, a canção foi utilizada por Chris Stapleton como pano de fundo pra sua versão de "Tennessee Whiskey", música de Dean Dillan e Linda Hargrove que já havia conquistado os charts de música country na voz de David Allan Coe em 1981
