WHY IS TRUTH IMPORTANT

in #krnelcontest6 years ago

Truth,

As defined by the dictionary is "conformity to fact or reality”, which simply means the actual fact of what is. If something isn’t true then it’s false. It's human nature having a hard time to accept truth, and by nature we are prone to believe that we have answers to whatever is running through our minds. But that is not always the case. Wanting to keep the power of this position, we close ourselves off from that, which points to a deeper truth inside of us. Settling for this knowledge, we deprive ourselves of wisdom which is essentially what truth is.

If truth never existed, then why do we listen to teachers? Why do we obey parents and trust them? Why do we seek knowledge from philosophers, have the confidence from the resource of the books we read, trust a referee's call, listen to the news, obey the law, learn from the lessons taught and most importantly, why should we rely on what we say, think, believe and tell ourselves? Why bother to attempt to find it when it doesn't exists in the first place? Our observations, perceptions, beliefs, ideas, judgments, experiences of reality would mean absolutely nothing if the truth never existed!! The justice system, fairness, the law, and morals would be diminished. Your opinion and values would be irrelevant in a world without truth. How could we possibly come to common agreement amongst each other?

Truth is the basis for what is right and wrong. Our everyday decision is governed and influenced by truth and if truth didn't exists, neither would right or wrong, so why complain about a man that rapes a little girl, a nurse that steals and sells children, war that is waged, innocent people that die in the news or mothers that abandon their children in dumpsters? Furthermore, we know that truth exists because of the good and negative outcomes from it. Truth is important because is the basic unit to construct knowledge. Every decision you make, conscious or unconscious is based on previous verified truth, that when verified several times, are called facts. That enables us to predict the outcome of every action (expectations), so we can compare expected outcome to our actions results and “learn” from them.

Truth is one of the most important virtues of a working society. We build relationships based on truth, truth helps us to gain intelligence, we acknowledge problems in our society because of truth, it keeps maintaining a balance between order and chaos and so on. We are able to identify the problems and the bad among us because of truth and it is the main reason why we question mainstream ideas. Truth keeps us safe and makes us more prudent. One of the most reliable parameter in critical thinking is truth.

Why IS Truth Important ?

Truth is of great importance in life especially as we can't disguise ourselves to be what we aren’t. Strong relationships are built through truth. What a single lie causes when you are finally busted proves that truth is better to lies and foremost thing, a single lie arises thousand lies ahead. So better and always follow the truth. There is a very vital reason why most people seek to find the truth. Without the truth there will be terrible consequences following it. For example, imagine a doctor prescribing the wrong drugs for you or a building contractor executing your building project with all the wrong material. All this will probably lead to death or a lot of casualties. Truth relieves us from confusion and completes us by giving us satisfaction. Lies and concealment of truth could foster disbelief which then leads to misfortune, life threatening circumstances and chaos.

What defines a man is the reliability of the words that comes out of his mouth. Truth is a man’s roadmap for life. Telling the truth is a decision which is left for the individual concerned and whatever you accept as your truth becomes your destiny. Truth influences your beliefs, which ultimately influences your actions.
