The Basics To Kratom (& Why It Should Be Legalised in the UK)

in #kratom8 years ago

Kratom, simply put, is a type of substance that is related to the coffee family of "substances". It's used medicinally to manage pain, help depression, relieve stress and get rid of anxiety.

Now, it sounds harlmess, and because for the most part it is.

So why is it illegal in the UK?

There are two main strains of kratom that I am aware of.

Simulating Strains - The Simulating Strains are there to give a person energy and to lift their spirits and their mood up., they can be used sociaily or generally to help boost your energy if you have a particularly busy day.
Sedative Strains - Sedative Strains are typically not for social situations, as they are used to manage chronic pain and to help you sleep better.

The UK decided to ban this drug as part of its Psychoactive Substances Bill

Let's compare the positives to the negatives, shall we?

Positives:
Pain Relief
Helps Depression
Helps Anxiety
Boosts Energy
Lifts Mood
Can Help Your Sleeping Pattern
Can Help You Engage Socially

Negatives:
Drowsiness
Loss Of Appetite
Potentially Sweating
Potential Dizziness

I myself know many people who have used it, and I have also used it for well over a year. And I believe it should not be banned in the UK. But oh well.

Either way, I hope you learned something new today and maybe take it up in your own time to research into this medicinal, and typically harmless drug.
