Among the total of 270 reporters, 26 individuals from 17 countries were able to come to Korea for the event. They hailed from Egypt, the Philippines, Ghana, Bulgaria, Germany, Kazakhstan, China and Japan, among other places.

During the two-day trip, the group paid a visit to the Alpensia Ski Jumping Center in Pyeongchang-gun and to the Gangneung Ice Arena in Gangneung-si, the venue for the figure skating and short-track speed skating events, all in Gangwon-do Province. They were seen capturing pictures and making videos of everything their eyes could see at the Olympic venues, and uploading the photos and videos in real-time to their Facebook or Instagram profiles, as well as to ING, the Chinese live-streaming channel, and other social media platforms.

“Go PyeongChang! Go Gangneung! Go Jeongseon!” as they pose for a group photo at the Gangneung Ice Arena in Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do Province, on Jan. 24.

There’s great interest in the upcoming PyeongChang Games in China, as it’s the next Winter Olympic host country,” said Zhao. “It’s such an honor that I can introduce these host cities to my Chinese audience as a Korea.net honorary reporter.”

At the Gangneung Ice Arena, complete with ice-making and ice-quality inspection facilities, Solis Sheena of the Philippines posted five pictures to her Instagram feed, commenting that, “I’ll be posting a series of photos, videos, articles and news updates about #2018PyeongChang.”

What the honorary reporters discovered in the host cities will soon be available in their own written words at www.korea.net and at www.koreanetblog.blogspot.kr.
