디지털 시대의 부의 원천
동아비즈니스리뷰(DBR) 2017년 12월호에 실린 김경준(딜로이트컨설팅 부회장)의 글을 일부 요약해 올린다.
- 사이버 네트워크에 기록된 데이터에 불과한 신기루였던 가상화폐가 점차 개념적 차원을 넘어서 기존 화폐의 보완 수단으로 실생활에 연결되는 단계에 진입
- 아마존, 페이팔, 라쿠텐 등 글로벌 온라인 사업자들이 가상화폐 결제를 도입
- 독일과 일본 정부는 가상화폐를 결제 수단으로 공식 인정
- 스웨덴과 아이슬란드는 정부 차원에서 자체적으로 가상화폐 발행을 검토 → 법정통화 가능성 타진
- 가상화폐는 탈중앙 패러다임의 디지털 시대를 상징하게 됨
- 전문가들은 결제 수단으로서의 장점은 인정하지만 해킹 위험성, 높은 변동성 등의 한계를 지적
- 거시적 관점에서 가상화폐 출현은 부의 원천에 변화를 가져옴
- 부의 원천이 아날로그 시대의 인구, 영토, 군사력에서 디지털 시대로 변함에 따라 IT 역량으로 바뀌고 있음
블록체인 기술을 통해 부를 얻을 수 있다고 그것을 '부의 원천'이라 표현하는 데는 크나큰 비약이 있어야 가능할 것이다.
