안녕하세요,
정신없이 바빴던 일주일,
빡세게(?) 일하고 드디어 꿀맛같은 주말을 맞이한
유쓰미 @y-o-u-t-h-m-e 입니다. ^^

2년 전 이맘때.. 정확히는 4월 16일에,
제가 매우 좋아하던 Coldplay의 첫 내한 공연이 있었습니다.
(96년에 결성한 밴드가 2017년이 되서야 첫 내한을 하다니..!)

워낙 기대가 컸던 공연이라, 일찌감치 공연 시작 전부터 줄을 서서, 스탠딩 구역에서도 꽤 좋은 위치에서 공연 관람을 시작할 수 있었습니다.
그리고 콘서트의 오프닝을 'Jess Kent'라는 (그때 당시에는 생소했던) 뮤지션이 시작했습니다.
처음엔 '누구지? 처음 보고 듣는 친구인데?' 라는 생각이었는데, Jess Kent의 공연이 끝났을 때에는 '집에 가자마자 찾아서 다시 들어봐야겠다!' 라는 생각이 들었었습니다. ^^

팝 음악을 많이 좋아하는 편은 아닌데,
힙합과 팝을 절묘하게 섞어놓은 것 같은
에너지 넘치는 이 곡이 제일 기억에 남았습니다.

라이브로 이 곡을 들었을 때의 신선했던 그 느낌이 참 좋았었습니다. ^^
어깨 춤이 절로 추어지는 그루브라고 할까요..
집에 와서 유튜브에서 다시 찾아 들어보니
이모지로만 만든 독특한 뮤직비디오에
또 한 번 푹 빠졌었습니다. ^^

Jess Kent is an Australian musician. Kent is best known for her debut single, "Get Down". She has also collaborated on the song "1993 (No Chill)" with Paces. "Get Down" was ranked number 185 on the Triple J Hottest 100, 2015 song list.

In December 2016, Kent opened the Oceanian leg for British rock band Coldplay's A Head Full of Dreams Tour. She also opened the Asian leg of the tour in March and April 2017. In 2018, Kent performed as an opening act on Hayley Kiyoko's Expectations Tour.

Kent was born in Derby, England. Her father was a blues rock guitarist, while her mother was of Indian-African descent. She began learning the guitar from her father at age seven and busked with her older brother at pubs and parties. She also began songwriting before age ten. Kent lived in England until age 11 when her family relocated to Adelaide, Australia. When she was 18, she moved to Sydney to pursue a music career.

블루스 록밴드의 기타리스트인 아버지를 두고, 7살때부터 배워서 치기 시작한 기타, 열 살도 되기 전부터 곡을 쓰기 시작.. 갑자기 만들어진 스타가 아닌, 어렸을 때부터 꾸준히 음악적인 재능을 보였던 뮤지션이군요. ^^
