Having recovered from last night’s 860km drive from Toronto to Quebec, I woke up late and ended up skipping out on breakfast. My friend and I threw together whatever was available and ate a satisfying enough lunch. As we sat down and pondered on the thought of visiting Old Quebec or to rest up for an early start the next day, we decided to try to figure out what was wrong with the money from a rentalcars.com cancelation not being refunded. My friend called their services and it turns out that Rental Cars didn’t charge us for those fees but rather the insurance company that was covering our basic car insurance was responsible. Turns out that we did cancel the reservation but in order for the refund to go through we need to wait at least 48 hours. With today being a weekend, we were told to wait until the end of Monday. Now that we had some of the problems figured out, we decided to take a two hour nap and head out for some groceries.

어제의 860km를 운전해 비오는 날씨와 밤과 이어오는 졸림을 맞싸워 퀘벡에 도착했다. 후유증을 회복하기 위해 오늘 늦게까지 잠을 잤다. 늦게까지 잠을 잤기 때문에 아침을 건너 띄워 남아있는 음식들 통해 점심을 대충 해결했다. 점심을 먹은후 의자와 소파에 앉아 Old Quebec에 놀러갈지 아니면 내일 아침에 일찍 출발하기 위해 오늘은 쉴지 고민을 하다 rentalcars.com을 통해 예약했다가 취소한 돈이 왜 돌아오지 않았는지 확인하기로했다. 형이 렌탈 카스 고객센터에 전화해서 물어봐준다하고 나에게는 내가 해야한다는 일을 하라고 했다. 형이 전화해서 알아낸 것은 렌탈 카스가 직접 돈을 결재시킨것은 아니고 우리가 가입했엇던 차 보험사에서 돈을 결재한것이라고 했다. 차보험사 번호를 확인하고 전화를 하였다. 결론으로는 돈을 돌려 받는데 최대 48시간은 걸리고 지금은 주말이기 때문에 월요일 자정까지는 기달려야한다고 하였다. 다행이 취소는 됬고 월요일에 잘 돌려받기만 하면 된다. 문제였던 것을 해결 했으니 두시간 낮잠으로 에너지 재충전을 하고 마트를 향해 오후 드라이브를 즐기기로 했다.

This is a photo I took as we arrived at Super C Grocery Store. The color of the sky and the scenery that could be enjoyed was the complete opposite of the beauty Toronto offered. So far, Quebec has flattered me with a fantastic scenery.

슈퍼 씨라는 대형 마트에 도착하며 이 사진을 찍었다. 하늘의 색갈과 드라이브하면서 본 환경은 매우 만족스러웠다. 토론토에 큰 건물들과 바쁜 삶속의 아름다운 야경과 정반대인 퀘벡도 퀘벡만에 아름다운 환경으로 기분이 뿌듯했다.

This is a picture from inside the Grocery Store. It’s actually very interesting to see how each country shelves their products. It was very different from what I’m used to in South Korea. Super C didn’t have instant microwavable rice that we were trying to find but it was still a great experience.

케나다의 슈퍼 씨라는 대형 마트 안에서 찍은 사진이다. 여행을 자주 다니면서 각자의 나라의 마트 제품 배치도가 신기하다. 대한민국에서 생활하면서 익숙한거와는 매우 달랐다. 대형 마트를 찾아온 이유중 하나가 햇반을 찾으러 와봤다. 아무레도 자주 이동하니 햇반이 있으면 편하고 도움이 많이 될데가 있다. 없을 것이라는 것은 각오하고 왔지만 기대를 따르지 못하여 찾으질 못했다. 대형 마트를 돌아다니면서 매우 좋은 경험을 하였다.

As we left Super C, we never realised how dark it has gotten. We hurried to our car and loaded our groceries. Before getting in the car, I just had to snap another picture of this beautiful scenery I wasn’t used to. The sky just kept mesmerizing my virgin mind.

대현 마트를 나오면서 얼마나 어두워진 것을 깨달았다. 얼른 차로 향해 달려가서 장 본 것들을 차에 다 싫었다. 차를 타기 전에 아름다운 하늘을 한번 더 사진을 찍었다. 이렇게 아름다운 하늘은 익숙하지 않았다. 하늘을 볼때마다 첫사랑을 바라보듯이 나의 어린 마음을 사로 잡았다.
