[KR/EN]첫번째 펭귄(First Penguin, Penguin Effect), 그리고 넋두리

오늘은 야구가 아닌 다른 주제로 포스팅을 작성해볼까 합니다.
아 오늘부터 저도... 번역기를 사용해 영어도 같이 작성해보려고 합니다.

첫번째 펭귄, 펭귄 효과 라고 불리는 심리학적 효과에 대해 이야기 하려고 합니다. 사실 저도 자세한, 전문적인 내용은 몰라요.

혹시 잘못된 내용이 있을수도 있습니다.

요즘 스팀잇에 많은 심리학 전공자 분들이 계시니까, 혹시 잘못된 사실들은 바로잡아 주시면 감사하겠습니다 :)

남극에는 다양한 종류의 펭귄 수 백만 마리가 살고있습니다.
육지는 모든것이 얼어있기 때문에 펭귄들은 먹이를 찾기 위해서 바다로 나갈 수 밖에 없죠. 바다로 향한 펭귄들은, 누구 하나 바다로 들어가지 못하고 머뭇머뭇, 서로 눈치를 보고 있어요.
바다 안에는 먹이 뿐만 아니라, 펭귄을 잡아먹는 천적들이 많기 때문이죠. 그렇게 시간이 흐르다보면, 용기있는 펭귄 한마리가 먼저 바다로 뛰어들어요. 눈치만 보고 머뭇거리던 펭귄들은 그제서야 누가 먼저랄 것 없이 바다로 다같이 뛰어들어요.

이런 현상을 바로 첫번째 펭귄, 펭귄 효과 라고 합니다.

좀 익숙하지 않으신가요?? 제가 느끼기에는 흔히 말하는 군중심리 랑 비슷한 개념인 것 같아요.

저는 하고싶은건 많고, 욕심은 많지만 실제로 어떤 액션을 취하는 실행력이 조금 부족했었습니다.

그러다가 우연히 어떤 책을 읽으면서 저만의 첫번째 펭귄을 바다로 뛰어들게 했어요.

제 인생에 그 첫번째 펭귄은 "100일동안 33권의 책 읽기" 였습니다.

사실 정확히 100일동안 33권의 책을 읽지는 못했어요. 거의 4개월동안 30권이 조금 넘는 책을 읽었죠.

그래도 저만의 첫번째 펭귄이 바다로 뛰어든 이후, 두번째, 세번째 펭귄들이 계속 바다로 뛰어들었어요.
자전거 전국일주, 호주 배낭여행, 야구용품 도매로 떼다 팔기, 야구동아리 창단 등등...

이게 제 인생에 엄청난 자신감을 주기도 했고, 엄청난 나비교화를 일으켰던 것 같아요.
'일단 해보자, 할 수 있을 것 같다' 이런 자신감도 생겼습니다.

사실 제가 어제 kr-pick 태그에 처음 글을 작성한 것도 kr-pick 태그 활성화를 위해서는 첫번째 펭귄이 필요할 것 같아서 였습니다.

다행이도 이후에, 몇몇 분들이 kr-pick태그를 사용해서 글을 추천해주셨어요. 감사합니다 :)

이렇게 첫번째 펭귄, 펭귄효과는 좋은 방향의 일을 이야기 할 때 보통 사용하는것 같아요. 그런데 비슷한 효과인 것 같지만, 부정적인 영향을 야기하는 단어가 있어요. 바로 깨진 창문 이론 이에요.

위키백과에서 깨진 창문 이론은 이렇게 설명하고 있습니다.

깨진 유리창 하나를 방치해 두면, 그 지점을 중심으로 범죄가 확산되기 시작한다는 이론으로, 사소한 무질서를 방치하면 큰 문제로 이어질 가능성이 높다는 의미를 담고 있다.

이렇게 비슷한 군중심리가 긍정적인 영향을 줄수도, 부정적인 영향을 줄수도 있는것 같아요.

솔직히 스팀잇을 처음 시작할 때에는, 시간날 때 글을 쓰면서 용돈이나 조금 벌어보자 하는 생각에서 시작했습니다.
온라인 활동은 별로 좋아하지 않기도 했구요..

사실 원래 저는 사람들과 소통하거나 대화하는걸 매우 좋아하거든요..

그런데 모르는 사람들과 인터넷에서 소통을 해봐야 뭐 얼마나 진실한 소통을 하겠어? 이런 생각을 되게 많이 했던것 같아요.

하지만, 스팀잇에 중독되면서...(ㅠㅠ 하필 시험기간에..) 올라오는 많은 글들을 읽다보니까 소통하는게 생각보다 무척 재미있었고, 즐거웠습니다. (즐거움의 크기는 시험기간 버프를 받아 더 컸던건 분명합니다..ㅎㅎ)

그래서 제가 글을 쓰는 것 보다는 사람들의 글을 읽고 댓글을 다는데 훨씬 많은 시간을 쓰는 것 같아요.

제가 다른 온라인 활동을 해본적이 없어서 다른 커뮤니티 활동? 을 해도 이런지는 솔직히 잘 모르겠습니다.

분명 대부분의 분들이 스팀잇을 하는 목적이 돈 이겠죠? 당장 저부터만해도 그런걸요.

목적이 돈 인게 나쁘다고 생각하지도 않고, 오히려 신기하고 좋은 기회라고 생각해요.
그래도 너무 돈에만 막 집중하지 않고, 다같이 뭔가 나누고 즐기는 분위기가 됐으면 좋겠습니다.

이제 한달? 정도 밖에 안된것 같아서 이런말씀 드리기 되게 민망하고 웃기지만,
그래도 그냥 스팀잇에서 사람들이랑 같이 만나고 소통하고 이렇게 서로 즐기면서 배려하는 분위기가 많아졌으면 좋겠어요.

스팀잇에 많은 분들한테 솔직히 엄청 충격 받았었거든요..
kr 커뮤니티를 위해 거금을 거리낌 없이 투척(?)하시기도 하고, 귀찮은 일들도 많이 하시고..

그 분들이 본인들의 이득을 위해 하셨을 수도 있어요.
그렇다 하더라도 정말 대단한 일을 하신다고 생각이 들어요.

그런데 그게 어쨌든 스팀잇 kr 커뮤니티에 공공의 이익으로 나타나고 있다고 생각합니다.

@vimva님도 몇번 말씀하셨고, 저도 몇번 언급한 적이 있지만 이렇게
사익을 추구하면서 공익을 추구할 수 있다면 정말 가장 좋은것 아닐까요?
이기적이면서 이타적인 마음이라고 할 수 있을지 모르겠네요.

되게 오지랖 넓은 이상한 사람처럼 느껴질까봐 불안하기도 한데......

결국 스팀잇도 사람 사는 세상이니까 항상 즐거운 일만 있을수는 없고, 갈등도 있을 수 있겠지만
그래도 그냥 여기서는 다들 즐겁기만 했으면 좋겠어요.

깨진 창문 이론처럼 부정적인 영향을 주지 않고, 첫번째 펭귄 처럼 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있는 사람이 많아졌으면 좋겠습니다 :)

저도 첫번째 펭귄이 되도록 열심히 노력해보려구요.

그냥 첫번째 펭귄에 대해서 잠시 설명하려고 했는데, 쓰다보니 주제도 없고 그냥 되게 긴 지루한 글이 된 것 같네요 ㅠㅠ

시험 끝나면 이런 지루한 얘기 말고 야구에 대한 포스팅을 더 열심히 해야겠습니다 ㅎㅎ
