전 세계가 어벤져스 인피니티 워로 뜨겁다.
한국도 마찬가지로 뜨겁지만 다른 의미로도 뜨겁다.
바로 번역 오역 논란이다.

이미 많은 이슈화가 된 내용이기에 인피니티 워의 오역은 놔두고 새롭게 나온 오역에 대해서 이야기 할까 한다.
바로 토르 시리즈 전체와 인피니티워의 토르의 모습에 대한 개연성을 날려버린 토르 라그나로크에서 발생한 오역이다.

The whole world is hot with The Avengers Infiniti War.
Korea is hot as well, but hot in other sense.
It is a controversy over translation mistakes.

I would like to talk about the new misreading of Infiniti War without the translation of Infiniti War because it has already become very controversial.
It is a mistranslation created by Thor Ragnarok, who blew out the probability of Thor's appearance in Parts 1, 2 and 3 and Infiniti War.

인피니티 워에서 초반 토르는 힘 한번 써보지 못하고 타노스에게 패배한다.
한국 관객들, 나 역시 단순히 타노스가 엄청 강하구나 생각했다.
하지만 영화가 진행되며 이후 새로운 망치를 찾는 모습과 망치를 얻은 후 강력해진 토르의 모습을 보면서 의구심을 갖게 된다.

토르 라그나로크에서는 망치가 없어도 잘만 싸우던데 왜 초반에는 발렸지?
저 무기가 그렇게 강한건가?

많은 사람들이 스토리의 개연성 문제를 단점으로 꼽기 시작했지만 어떤 사람이 원인을 찾아냈다.
토르 라그나로크에서 발생한 오역 문제로 한국 마블팬들에게는 토르의 행동이 개연성이 없게 보였다는 것이다.

In Infiniti War early Thor is beaten by the Tanos for lack of strength.
Korean audiences, too, thought the tanos were just too strong.
However, as the movie progresses, it makes one wonder what to look for and how to look at Thor, who became stronger after getting a hammer.

Thor Ragnarok fights well without a hammer, but why did you lose early on?
Is that weapon that strong?

Many people have begun to cite the probability problems of the story as a drawback, but someone has found the cause.
Thor's behavior seemed unlikely to Korean Marvel fans because of a mistranslation issue that happened in Thor Ragnarok.

이걸 번역이라고 불러야 할지 의문이다.

저 대사 하나로 인피니티 워에서 토르의 모습이 모두 납득이 간다.

아스가르드가 없기에 힘을 사용하지 못하였고
타노스와 싸우기 위해 아스가르드 밖에서 자신의 힘을 불러낼 수 있는 묠니르 같은 무기가 필요했고
무기를 얻자 일기당천으로 싸우는 강력한 모습이 말이다.

더더욱 치명적인 문제는 저 오역으로 인해서 토르 시리즈 전체의 의미가 퇴색되었다는 부분이다.

토르 시리즈는 토르가 왕이 되는 여정을 그리고 있다고 생각한다.

토르 라그나로크의 내용을 한국의 번역으로 보자면 토르는 헬라와의 싸움에서 승리를 위해 어쩔 수 없이 아스가르드를 포기한것처럼 그려지는데 반대로 정상적인 번역이었다면 백성을 위해 신으로써 자신의 힘을 버리고 백성을 위하는 왕으로써의 각성을 그리고 있는 것이라 볼 수 있다.

토르 라그나로크의 마지막 장면에서 왕좌에 앉는 장면도 한국에서는 그 의미가 제대로 전달되지 못했다는 것이다.

That single line makes me feel convinced of Thor's behavior in Infiniti War.

We couldn't use it because there was no Asgard.
To fight the Tanos, you needed a weapon like a Mjǫlnir that could bring your powers back out of Asgard.
With the help of weapons, the two allies are fighting each other hard.

Even more fatal is that the meaning of the Thor entire series has been blurred by that mistranslation.

I think Thor Series describes the journey to be king.

To put Thor Ragnarok's content in Korean translation, Thor is drawn as if he had given up Asgard to win the fight with Hella.
If it had been a normal translation, it would have been for the people to abandon their power as gods and portray their awakening as a king for the people.

In the last scene, Thor Ragnarok sat on the throne, saying that the meaning of the picture was not conveyed in Korea.

오늘 이 내용을 보면서 엄청 화가 났다.

저 오역가 때문에 작품의 재미를 100% 즐기지 못하고 있다는 기분을 받았기 때문이다.
그것도 한편도 아니고 몇십편을 말이다.
저 오역가는 수많은 마블과 DC영화를 번역하고 있다.
최근 007시리즈나 크리스토퍼 놀란 감독의 작품도 있다.
한국 배급사는 이 오역가를 대체할 생각이 없는 것 같은데 이 오역가를 계속 쓰겠다면 불매 운동이라도 해야 하나 고민이다.

최소한 번역을 할려면 작품에 대한 이해도가 있는 사람이 했으면 한다.

I got very upset when I saw this today.

That translator has made me feel like I'm not enjoying my work 100 percent.
Not one but dozens.
That translator is translating a lot of Marvel and DC movies.
There is also a recent 007 series and a work by director Christopher Nolan.
The Korean distributor does not seem to be considering replacing the translator, but it is concerned about a boycott if the translator is to be used continuously.

At least someone with a good understanding of the work would do it to translate it.
