밀린 게임하는 남자입니다.

부처님이 주신 소중한 휴일.
오늘 비가 내리는 밤중에 이루어지는 야수사냥에 대한 이야기를 써볼까 합니다.

이상한 병에 걸려 야수가 되어버린 사람들, 그리고 그 야수를 사냥하는 사냥꾼들이 모이는 도시 야냠.
주인공은 자신의 몸을 덮쳐온 이 야수병을 치료하기 위해 이 야냠으로 흘러들어왔고 이 병을 치료하기 위한 사냥에 몸을 던집니다.

라는 이야기로 시작되는 블러드본은 매우 매력적인 게임입니다. 칙칙하고 어딘가 고딕 호러스러운 분위기는 플레이어를 압도하는 느낌을 주며 이런 분위기를 지탱해주는 멋진 음악. 그외에도 여러 매력을 가졌지만 저는 그중에서도 블러드본의 보스들을 꼽고 싶습니다.

그리고 그 중에서도 루드비히를 최고로 꼽습니다.

자신이 타고 다니던 말과 뒤엉킨듯한 기괴한 모습에 블러드본 특유의 눈동자가 수도 없이 달린 디자인.

하지만 블러드본의 캐릭터 답게 비극적인 스토리를 가지고 있으며 그에 걸맞는 모습과 반전의 2페이즈. 그리고 선택지에 따라서 달라지는 또 다른 씁쓸함이 이 보스를 더더욱 매력적으로 만들어 줍니다. 오늘 간만에 플레이를 하면서 제 앞발은 제 말을 듣지 않아서 신나게 죽어가갔지만 정말 음악과 더불어 너무나 멋진 스토리와 연출에 감동합니다.

야수의 피에 취해 점점 광기에 미쳐가는 동료들을 막아서던 그역시 야수의 피, 그 광기에 어쩔 수 없이 몸을 빼았겨 사냥에 취하고 결국 자신이 사냥당하는 처지가 된다는 비극적 스토리는 이 블러드본의 세계관에 깊이를 더해줍니다.

블러드본에서 보여지는 루드비히의 행보는 비극적 영웅의 행보를 그대로 답습하고 있습니다.

최초의 사냥꾼이었고 앞장서서 야수들과의 싸움을 이끌었던 영웅이 자신이 처단하고자 했던 야수들과 같은 저주에 걸려 다른 사냥꾼에게 사냥당하게 되는 입장이 된다는 점에서 그렇습니다. 그의 이상과 같은 야수사냥이라는 길을 따라 온 플레이어는 자신의 손으로 자신과 같은 길을 개척하던 자신의 말로가 될지도 모르는 영웅을 쓰러뜨려야만 하죠. 하지만 제작사는 반전으로 루드비히가 스스로 저주를 딛고 일어나 한명의 같은 사냥꾼으로써 플레이어와 싸운다는 멋진 반전을 집어넣어 영웅적인 죽음을 맏이하게 되는 형태로 흘러갑니다.

정말 처음 플레이했을때 칼을 기사처럼 잡고 검기를 날리는 모습에 기겁을 했습니다.
그리고 쩔어주는 테마곡. 오케스트라와 합창단의 목소리가 함께 터져나오는 부분을 처음 들었을때는 손에 땀이 흥건해졌습니다. 여전히 오랜만에 플레이 하면서 들어도 명곡입니다.
