Someone wrote me an email and ended it with "Time is of essence" and it wasn’t even a legal massive. A couple of friends with health issues have been lamenting not knowing how much time they've got left. That's so true for everyone, even those fit as a fiddle, because people can die at any age and from any reason. I guess time is one of the most mysterious forces in the universe. As humans, we should be aware of its 3 stages - the past, the present and the future. The present is clearly the only space we have to work in. But many of us spend a lot of time mulling over the past or worrying about the future. We might be happier if we let go of the past and look ahead into the unknown with hope.

There are times, when work piles up or the going gets tough, that I would ponder how much my time is worth, dealing with matters big and small. Apparently, there's no easy answer to this question. I can think of time in term of opportunity cost - the value I've lost doing one activity or project instead of another. We know time management is crucial in order not to waste time and efforts on non productive tasks. I agree with the quote that “time is money”. We kill time, we save time, we rob time, we lose time and we have all the time in the world - however we put it, none of us is powerful enough to stop the march of time or to slow it. The most we can do is to get the most out of it. Clement Hii
