Korean War and the Turkish Brigade

One of the proudest moment in recent Turkish history for me is the assistance of Turkish soldiers to South Korea during the Korean war.

I wasn't even in this world during that time period but I am glad that we supported a country with so many hardworking people with high moral values. Korea prooved to be an example country over the last 30-40 years, showing what it is to rise from its ashes. Finland and Korea are the two countries I have upmost respect. They have both overdone themselves and prospered even though the tides weren't on their side.

Korean war started in 1950 with 75000 North Korean soldiers invading South Korea. Turkey assisted South Korea fight the North Korean's with 15000 brave soldiers.

In 1950 , South Korea was ranked number 39 with 876 Usd GDP per capita and Turkey was ranked at number 36 with 1299 Usd GDP per capita. In 2016 Korea increased its GDP per capita by 31,5 times and had 27,633 GDP per capita. During the same period Turkey was able to increase its GDP per capita by 7.17 times to 9317 Usd per capita.

Just examining the growth spurt and how much they have done for the World I am once again really happy that we were on South Korea's side, helping them protect their land.
