Are you considering to travel in Asia? Seoul and Tokyo is one of the most famous Asian city that people wants to travel. Today, I want to introduce of traveling in Seoul and Tokyo. I used to live in Seoul and also Tokyo, so you can trust my information ;)

First of all, I want to say Seoul and Tokyo located really closely but everything is so different. I’m not trying to say which one is better, they both have their own so many attractions so please don’t be upset about my post.

I made it to 5 section that I think it’s the most important when you traveling.

1. Hotel

Seoul : Seoul has a lot of guest house, hotel, pension etc. Most of hotels are located in the inside of city so it's really comfortable to moving around. Hotels are usually clean and nice service and price is really affordable.

Tokyo : Hotels are usually expensive and rooms are small in Tokyo so if you want to have a big room I recommend you to check the size of the room before. Also you might hard to get family room like for 4 – 5 people in Japan. These days there are many theme hotels like Ninja, Samurai so you can have more choice for joy.

2. Public Transportation

Seoul: Seoul is one of the cities where public transportation is very well developed. Buses and subways allow you to travel to most areas of Seoul, and taxis also reasonable prices.

Tokyo: Tokyo has more developed trains than buses. I recommend purchasing a package ticket when using the train. Because Japan has a lot of railways, so the price of the train is very expensive.

Uh... Just a little overwhelming :)

3. Tourist Attraction

Seoul: Sightseeing spots in Seoul are not so far away, so it is easy to move around. It's a pity that there are not many places where you can experience outdoor activities like extreme sports. Also you might get impression of every spot looks same. There is an amusement park called Lotte World in downtown Seoul, which is divided into indoor and outdoor so you can enjoy it regardless of the weather, even in winter or in the middle of summer.

Tokyo: In Tokyo, there are some restrictions on the travel of sightseeing spots. Because sightseeing spots are usually far from each other and it takes time to travel by train, so there may be restrictions on sightseeing spots that can be explored throughout the day. However, there are many places in Japan where you can shop for shopping, and you can feel the unique culture of Japan such as Ninja Café and Maid Café. If you’re looking for amusement park, Disneyland and Disney Sea are located in Chiba near Tokyo.

4. Food

Seoul: I love Korean and Japanese both of them so I can’t choose just one of them. There are various kinds of different foods in Korea. It is also a great pleasure to try one by one. You also can find lots of street food such as Topokki or Hotok. But a lot of Korean food is spicy so please be careful!

Tokyo: You can taste good quality food in any restaurant in Tokyo. Mainly Japanese people have a lot of food craftsmen when they run a restaurant because they have been going to several generations from a long time ago. Not to mention the quality. Especially the sushi is a must-eat food in Japan!

5. Local People

Seoul: You’re going to find out that the English level of Koreans is really high, so it’s really convenience that if you are lost on the road or have questions, ask for help and you will be able to communicate in English.

Tokyo: Japanese people are famous for their kindness. If you go to Japan and ask for directions or go into a store and talk to a staff, you'll know how friendly they are at first! It’ll makes you happy on your whole trip.

아시아를 여행하고 싶은 여러분! 어떤나라를 갈까 망설여지시나요? 아시아 내에서도 서울과 도쿄는 많은 사람들이 여행하고 싶어하는 도시죠.

서울과 도쿄는 가까운 곳에 위치에 있지만 서로 가지고 있는 매력은 굉장히 다릅니다. 저는 오늘 어느 도시가 더 낫다 라고 말하려는 것이 아니라 각 도시가 가진 다른 매력을 소개하려고 하니 혹시나라도 기분상하지 않으셨으면 좋겠어요^^

여행지를 선택할때 빠지면 안될 요소들이 있습니다.
저는 다섯가지로 정리해 보았어요^^

1. 숙소

서울 : 서울은 비교적 숙소가 저렴한 편입니다. 게스트 하우스부터 호텔, 펜션 등 많은 숙소들이 도심속에 위치 해 있어 접근성이 우수하며 깔끔하고 좋은 시설을 갖추고 있는 숙소들이 많이 있습니다.

도쿄 : 도쿄의 숙소는 서울과 비교했을때는 가격이 조금 높은편 입니다만, 요즘엔 사무라이, 닌자, 키티등의 테마 숙소가 많이 있다고 하니 또 다른 즐거움을 찾을 수 있겠죠? 도쿄의 숙소는 대부분 굉장히 작은편이여서 넓은 룸을 찾기가 조금 힘들수도 있습니다. 또한 가족단위의 4-5명이 묵을 수 있는 숙소는 극히 제한적이기 때문에 잘 알아보고 가는것이 좋겠습니다.

2. 교통

서울 : 서울은 대중교통이 굉장히 잘 발달해 있는 도시중의 하나입니다. 버스나 지하철로 서울 내 대부분의 지역을 오갈 수 있으며 택시 또한 가격이 저렴해 관광객들이 많이 이용하고 있습니다.

도쿄 : 도쿄는 버스보다는 전철이 발달되어 있습니다. 전철을 이용할 때에는 패키지 티켓을 구매하는것을 추천드립니다. 일본은 사철이 많기 때문에 전철가격이 굉장히 비싼편이라 여행 중 교통비로 지출을 상당히 많이 하게 됩니다.

3. 관광지

서울 : 서울의 관광지들은 주로 멀리 떨어져 있지 않기 때문에 이동이 용이합니다. 하지만 대부분의 관광지들이 비슷한 느낌을 줄 수도 있습니다. 익스트림스포츠와 같은 아웃도어 체험을 할 수 있는곳이 많지 않은것이 아쉽습니다. 서울 도심안에 롯데월드라는 놀이공원이 있는데 실내와 실외로 나누어져 있기 때문에 한겨울이나 한여름에도 날씨에 상관없이 즐길 수 있습니다.

도쿄 : 도쿄에서는 관광지 이동에 있어 제약이 좀 있는편 입니다. 관광지들이 서로 떨어져 있고 전철로의 이동에 시간이 걸리기 때문에 하루에 둘러볼 수 있는 관광지에 제약이 있습니다. 하지만 일본은 쇼핑의 천국이라 불리울 만큼 쇼핑을 할 수 있는곳이 많으며 닌자 카페나 메이드 카페등의 일본만의 독특한 문화를 느낄 수 있는 곳이 많습니다. 도쿄 근교 치바에는 디즈니 랜드와 디즈니씨가 있으니 놀이공원을 좋아하는 분들이라면 꼭 들러보세요^^ 디즈니 랜드는 나라를 막론하고 한번쯤은 가볼만한 곳입니다.

4. 음식

서울 : 저는 서울과 도쿄 두 도시의 음식을 너무 사랑해서 하나만 고르라면 고르지 못할것 같습니다. 서울의 음식을 한마디로 표현하자면 다양성입니다. 한식에는 여러가지 종류의 다른 음식들이 있는데요 하나 하나 시도 해 보는것도 여행의 큰 즐거움입니다. 떡볶이나 호떡등의 길거리 음식도 많이 찾아볼수 있으니 꼭 시도 해 보시길 바랍니다.

도쿄 : 도쿄에서는 어떤 레스토랑을 들어가던 좋은 퀄리티의 음식을 맛볼수 있으실꺼에요. 주로 일본인들은 식당을 운영할때 집안 대대로 이어 내려오기 때문에 음식에 있어서 요리장인들이 많습니다. 그러니 퀄리티는 말할것도 없겠죠? 저렴한 식당들 부터 미슐랭에 실린 식당들도 많으니 여러가지 선택지가 있습니다. 특히 스시는 일본에서 꼭 먹어야 할 음식!

5.사람들

서울 : 한국인의 영어수준은 높은편이기 때문에 여러분이 길을 잃거나 궁금한 것이 있을때 도움을 청하면 영어로의 의사소통이 어렵지 않을것입니다.

도쿄 : 일본인들은 친절함으로 세계적으로 유명합니다. 만약 일본에 가셔서 길을 물어보거나 상점에 들어가 점원과 이야기를 나눈다면 영어를 잘 하지 못하더라도 그들이 얼마나 친절한지 단번에 알게 되실거에요.
