재수가 없다
이번 표현이 사전에 있는 뜻과 완전히 다릅니다.
사전에서 be unlucky나 have no luck란 표현이 있더라고요.
근데 사실은 없다 라는게 운이 없다는 것도 있지만 사람한테 쓰는 재수가없단 표현이 너무 다릅니다.
평상시에 한국사람들이 재수가없단 표현을 쓸때 luck과 아무관계도 없어요
그래서 한국사람들이 영어로 표현하려면 어색한 표현을 사용할 수도 있습니다.
'재수가없다' 언제 사용할수있을까요?
보통 어떤 사람이 나쁜 행동하거나 그 사람이 '못 됐다'거나 어떤 사람이 자기만 생각하하는 상황에서 이 표현을 사용하시죠!
올바른 표현이 뭘까요?
- Someone is/are full of oneself (잘난척이거나 이기적이다)
- Someone is an ass/jerk (you are mean or bad is the basic, so ass or jerk is more serious)
예를 들면
A: Did you hear what that guy said earlier?
B: No. What did he say?
A: He said our project that we are doing sucks and he would do better!
B: Wow! That guy is full of himself. He thinks he can do better than anyone.
A: Right. Just ignore him.
A: Hey, how's it going?
B: I'm doing fine. I am a little bit tired.
A: Yeah. You do look a bit tired.
B: Thanks for saying that. Now I am more conscious about my looks. You are a jerk!
A: Sorry, I didn't mean it that way.
이제부터 재수가없다라는 표현이 luck가 아니라 Someone is/are full of oneself과 Someone is an ass/jerk 표현을 사용하시면 됩니다.^^
