Sungkyunkwan scandal.
As you know I am a lover of the world of cinema and animation in Asia, March is the month where the Korean film festival is held in Florence, an event that I await for glory and since I'm in mutual society I took the opportunity to review a Korean drama that I loved a lot.
The dramas are episodic TV series, I love especially the Korean ones, but there are Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese etc ... They are very popular in Asia and overseas even if niche have fans, like me!
Some have modern settings, others like the one I'm talking about today are set in ancient times.
Sungkyunkwan Scandal is a drama of 2010, set in an ancient Korea tells the story of the young Kim Yoon-hee, a girl who to run the disadvantaged family and with a sick brother in disguise as a man to work as a scribe, her great talent, using the name of the brother.
The debts strangle her family and the girl is forced to accept even less honest jobs, such as acting as a substitute for an imperial examination to enter the prestigious Sungkyunkwan, a wing of the imperial court used to train new officers, a very forbidden test for women obviously to whom access to education for certain types of positions was not allowed.
During the exam, however, a very clever pupil notes her illegal trick, he is Lee Sun-joon, the lucky son of a minister.
The two begin a sort of skirmish that will result in a friendship where the boy does not suspect that under the clothes there is a woman pushes Kim yoon he to enroll in the exam and she does not hesitate, always using the identity of the brother.
Obviously pass the exam with flying colors and from there there are a series of fun and engaging vicissitudes in his new life in dorm with other aspiring officers, where the girl will make a great effort to keep her identity secret. How to avoid a scandal?
The drama is well taken care of, the compelling storyline and the magnificent settings, especially the internal ones during lunches and dinners are a pleasure for the eyes and a rumbling in the stomach in front of all those delicacies.
If you have never seen the kind I suggest you take a look, obviously all subtitled in English!
