Korean Beauty - Suncheon - 1st Stop(Suncheonman National Garden)
Suncheon - Suncheonman National Garden
※ Before starting, I want to announce that all the pictures were taken by Galaxy S9
Suncheon is located at the far south of Republic of Korea.
More specifically between Yeosu and Gwangju.
If Yeosu is known for its beautiful harborview, Suncheon has its famous wetland.
So, this time, my wife and I visited Suncheon for our vacation.
This is where Suncheon is located on.
As you can see, it is really far south.
From Daejeon, I think it took about three hours to get there, more or less.
With heavy traffic, it will need much more hours.
If you departed from Seoul, then it will take about four or five hours to get there, I think.
The first stop to Suncheon is the parking lot at Suncheonman National Garden.
Since the days I chose to travel had Children's Day itself, so the traffic jam was disastrous.
I think it took about another hour from entering Suncheon to finally arriving at Suncheonman National Garden parking lot.
Fortunately, the weather was so good.
It almost blow out the tiredness.... Yes, I said "ALMOST, not totally."
I can't exactly recall what this picture was for.
Maybe... The impressive artificial statue? I don't know.
The first animals(and maybe the last one also) which greeted us were Flamingo.
Right! The FLAMINGO!
Before that day, I had never seen the birds.
There is no wild flamingo in Korean peninsula.
Haven't I seen them at zoo? I cannot say I had.
I think this was the first time I'd seen it. I am pretty sure it was.
These pictures were taken in the National Garden also.
The feeling I got while I was walking around there was that the place was in harmony with nature and artificial constructions.
Of course, most things cannot be natural.
As I said before, there is no flamingo in Korea.
However, that doesn't mean it looks artificial.
Here are some more photos of it.
Do you see what I mean by the word "harmony?"
Sadly, we couldn't look through the whole park.
The park is literally HUGE and we only had about two hours to walk around.
If you want to see the whole park, you should have at least three/four hours vacant.
I think the time we moved to the hotel was around 6 or 7 p.m..
We had a great night and visited Suncheonman Wetland and the old town roads the next day.
I will post the next day's story later.
... Is this really the end of the first day's story?
Haven't I eaten anything?
This is Sundae(a kind of sausage made of bean curd and green).
In fact, I had it few years ago.
The taste hadn't changed since then, and it was great.
For drinking, I had Korean-style raw beef as a side dish.
