New Year's Resolution #2 한식하우스 신년계획: Offer All I Can to Whoever I Can/Decentralizing PrivilegesteemCreated with Sketch.

in #kr7 years ago

This is more of a personal one but I wanted to explain it more here because it stems from the belief that if we all do a little bit, it becomes a lot a bit.

What I've learned in 2016 above all the concept of “privilege” and how we can all contribute a little bit of our time to those who need it (whether it be in our neighborhood or Steemit or wherever). We typically think of these gestures in regards to charities or other non-profits but there is another component to this which we can do verbally and socially.

Everything starts from social action, a concept we can encourage more in our professional and personal lives as well as right here on the platform we share to circulate experiences and articles.

In the Pursuit of Democratic Culture and Development

  • Our first steps towards a cultural revolution.

From us at Hansik House, it means getting our experiences out there. Even as 28 and 29 yr-olds (Ryu just turned 29 this month!), we've gotten over an incredible amount of obstacles that could be turned into wisdom for other aspiring students and professionals. We both conquered graduate degrees and Ryu has over 10 years of experience as an international student. I personally have a perspective that is strangely not shared very much within the country – I am an ethnic Korean but not a national one. From these premises and our duo approach to the theme of culture, we started Hansik House earlier this year.

The radio show is one of many future projects we'll attempt at circulating new cultural ideas and focusing on societal concepts that are difficult to grasp without diverse discussion. No matter what you believe in or what you would like to see improved in the world, it all starts from conversation and ideation.
