[제보자들] ‘질식사 여대생’ 원인은 강제개종교육?…

5일 저녁 KBS2TV 프로그램 ‘제보자들’이 ‘질식사 여대생, 그녀의 가정에 무슨 일이 있었나?’를
방영한 가운데 방송에 등장한 ‘종교 갈등’으로 인한 ‘강제개종교육’에 이목이 쏠리고 있다.

이날 방송에서는 최근 전남 화순에서 한 여대생이 부모에 의해 질식사를 당한 사건을 재조명했다.

단순 존속 살해로 보이던
이 사건은 피해 여성이 1년 전 ‘한국이단상담소 폐쇄와 강제개종 목사 처벌 및 종교차별 금지법 제정’을 촉구한 사실이 밝혀지면서 강제개종교육이 사망사건의 배경으로 지목되고 있다.

이날 방영내용에 따르면 피해자 이민지(27, 가명)씨의 가족은 인가와 떨어진 펜션을 약 3개월간 예약한 상태였다.
또 해당 펜션에는 못질이 돼 있었다.
이와 관련해 이씨의 친구들은 이씨가 강제개종교육에 끌려 간 것이라고 주장했다.
친구들에 따르면 이씨는 2016년에 천주교 수도원에서도 44일간 감금돼 강제개종교육을 당했다.

KBS제보자들팀이 해당 수도원을 방문해 사실을 확인하자 수도원 관계자는 사실을 부인했지만
지역 주민들은 엄마와 함께 있던 이씨가 "패닉상태로 보였다"고 말해
이씨의 주장이 사실이었음을 가늠케했다.

In response, Lee`s friends claimed that Lee was drawn to forced conversion training.
According to his friends, Lee was also detained at a Catholic monastery for 44 days in 2016 and underwent compulsory conversion training.

When a team of KBS informers visited the monastery to verify the fact, a member of the monastery denied the incident.
Local residents say Lee, who was with his mother, looked " panicky. "
It was confirmed that Lee's argument was true.

이단상담이라는 이름으로 버젓이 자행되는 ‘강제개종교육’은 반(反)헌법적인 종교강요 행위로
납치, 감금 등 심각한 인권침해를 수반하는 ‘종교혐오 범죄’다.

강제개종교육피해자인권연대(강피연)가 집계한 사례에 따르면
강제개종피해 건수는 2012년을 기준으로 전년도 60건에서 이듬해 130건으로 두 배 이상 뛴다.
2014년에는 160건으로 급증했다.
강제개종교육 피해를 호소하는 성도들은 1000명도 넘었다.
하지만 가정사로 치부하기엔 피해 상황은 상당히 심각해 보인다.
강피연이 피해자들을 대상으로 조사한 결과에 따르면 응답자 중
협박과 세뇌를 당한 피해자가 921건으로 가장 많았으며 감금을 당한 피해자는 802명에 달했다.
납치를 당해 끌려간 경우도 663건으로 집계됐다.
폭행(541건)을 당하거나 수갑·밧줄(367건)로 포박되기도 했다.
사회적인 대안이 요구되는 대목이다.
