의료용 대마의 합법화, 과연 전망은? Legalization of medical marijuana - What is the prospect?

일반적으로 '대마초'하면 마약, 중독, 범죄와 같은 부정적인 이미지가 연상됩니다. 한국에서는 '대마초'를 사고팔거나 흡연하는것은 엄연히 불법이고, 그나마 국가의 엄격한 통제하에 대마의 줄기로 '삼베'(의류) 제품을 만드는 것에만 한정되어 있습니다. 그런데 최근 세계 여러나라에서 "의료용 대마의 합법화" 논의가 진행되면서 대마초에 대한 재평가가 이루어지고 있습니다.

의료용 대마는 통증완화 뿐만아니라 치매나 간질, 퇴행성 신경질환, 크론병등 여러질병에서 효능이 있는것으로 알려지고 있습니다. 그리고 ♡미국의 그랜드 뷰 리서치는 전 세계 의료용 대마초 시장이 2025년까지 미화 558억 달러(60조 원) 규모가 될 것으로 예측했습니다. 현재 미국 29개주 및 호주, 네델란드, 남아공등 일부 도시에서는 의료용 대마사용을 허용하고 있으며 허용국은 더 증가할것으로 예상됩니다.

The number of dementia patients in Korea is 750,000 as of 2017, with the prospect of legalizing marijuana for medical patients will continue to be a debate in order to deal with the growing number of dementia patients in the future.
