There are lots of tourist cities in Korea. There is Seoul, Busan, Incheon, Daegu, etc.. Lots of them! Today, I'm going to introduce you the food of Jeonju, one of our most beloved city for tourism.

안녕하세요 스티미언 여러분, @somine 입니다! 한국에는 여행지로 유명한 도시가 아주 많은데요. 서울, 부산, 인천, 대구 등등! 정말 많죠 ㅎㅎ 오늘은 그중에서도 여행자들에게 가장 사랑받는 도시 중 하나인, 전주의 음식을 소개해 드리려고 합니다.

Jeon-Ju is famous for Han-ok ( traditional Korean-style house ). [The picture you can see above is Han-ok. Quite beautiful, innit? Maybe next time I'm gonna show you some Korean-style houses for y'all haha. But for now, I'm going to show you a Korean restaurant which is located in Jenoju.]

한국 사람이라면 모두 아시듯, 전주는 한옥으로 가장 잘 알려진 곳인데요.

This place is called Jeonju-ok, and this restaurant specializes in Bean sprout soup, which is quite famous Korean cuisine. The branches of Jeonju-ok is located all over Korea :) You can see it from Seoul, Busan, Daejeon, Cheonan, and the list goes on.

오늘 소개해 드릴 곳은 '전주옥'이란 가게인데요. 콩나물국밥 전문점이랍니다. 찾아보니 체인점이 서울, 부산, 대전, 천안 등 전국에 진출해 있다고 하네요 :)

When I entered this place, I figured it out that the inside is pretty neat and clean.

내부로 들어가 보니, 매장이 꽤 깔끔하고 깨끗하다는 느낌을 받았습니다.

We ordered Jeonju-ok bean sprout soup table d'hote :) There was also a bowl of Mozu and squid, as well as a bowl of bean sprout soup.

전주옥 콩나물국밥 정식을 주문했는데요 :) 콩나물국밥 뿐만 아니라 모주와 국밥용 오징어가 포함된 세트라고 합니다.

As side dishes, we got kimchi, some pickled salted seafood, etc..

반찬으로 김치와 젓갈 등이 나왔습니다.

And this was a bowl of egg. The way you eat this is, you gotta shred a couple of seaweed, put into the bowl, and three or four spoons of bean sprout soup, stir the whole thing up, and drink. It was great. I've never tasted this kind of flavor before.

그리고 이건 계란이 담긴 그릇이었는데요. 김 2장을 찢어 넣고, 콩나물국밥 국물을 3~4숟가락 넣은 후, 잘 섞어서 먹으면 된답니다. 꽤 맛있었어요. 처음 맛보는 맛ㅎㅎ

And here comes the main dish, the bean sprout soup! There are all sorts of ingredients in here. There is bean sprout, chopped up green onions, bite-sized piece of squids. And you may put your rice in this bowl.

The bean sprout soup was amazing. Piping hot, but also soothing. If you drink a spoonful of soup, you're going to dripping with sweat, but after finishing this bowl, you feel like fresh and bracing.

그리고 메인 요리인 콩나물국밥입니다! 온갖 종류의 재료가 들어있는데요. 콩나물, 잘게 썬 대파, 한입 크기의 오징어 조각 등이 들어있습니다. 그리고 당연히, 밥은 취향에 따라 넣어드시면 된답니다. 정말 뜨겁지만, 그와 동시에 속이 확 풀리는 맛이었는데요. 땀을 한바가지 흘리고 나면, 상쾌하고 시원한 느낌마저 들 것입니다

You can eat whether simply scoop the soup with some ingredients, or you can eat it with a piece of seaweed. [It's simple. Put some bean sprouts and squid, green onion on the seaweed, roll up, you eat.]

재료와 함께 국물을 떠서 드실 수도 있고, 아니면 김에 싸서 드실 수도 있답니다 :)

Do you still remember, Mozu? The drink came along with the foods? 'Mo' means 'mother' and 'Zu' means alcoholic beverage in Korean. And Mozu is a kind of Makgeolli( rice wine ).

[Makgeolli is one of the most beloved alcoholic drink as well as soju in Korea. Make sure you taste both of them when you're coming to Korea]

The flavor of Mozu was a little bit cinnamony and very sweet.
