I can understand that and think it is a good idea.
I think it is good for Steem if more stakeholders take the time to reassess on what basis they make their witness votes, and then evaluate each witness accordingly. Ideally with a public list of reasons like @blockbrothers.
One of our frustrations running a witness was how passive many stakeholders would be. It seemed that it did not matter if we were the only ones running serious tests of new hard-forks, or contributing to further development of Steem. Since most big stakeholders would not pay attention or change their votes.
Hopefully, with the addition of communities, we can be better at having an open and transparent, yet productive and focused, open conversation between witnesses and users on what direction we want to go with Steem.
I at least tried to put together a foundational pledge as to what the community can expect from our witness in our last post here. I hope it will just be the start of us doing more to be open with the community of our views and our contributions I would be very happy to hear from you what considerations you make when voting witnesses, and also what you would like to see communicated better in order to make an informed decision.
