Kodi Security warning - is it being spied on?

Want to give all the Kodi users here a warning!

People who have setup the remote control functionality on their Kodi have a serious vulnerability if not set up correctly.
the remote control makes it possible to access your Kodi and all the files on it through your browser from any place in the world.
As stated in the article on Torrentfreak, anybody who knows your IP addres, and you haven't password protected your Kodi, can view your video library, add-ons and change your settings.

So please check your settings!
There are 2 options to secure your Kodi, both of them mentioned in the article mentioned above :
1: disable the remote control via http
2: setup password protection

I myself have checked my 2 Kodi setups and disallowed remote control on both of them as I never use this functionality.
