Anyone that’s had any level of success will tell you how vital it was staying focused until the given task and goals is completed. Kobe Bryant is definitely one of the guys who had the maniacal focus to succeed. His alter ego, the black mamba (Africa’s deadliest snake) represents his killer instinct and how cold he was on the court. This trait among others led him to be one of the NBA’s greats if not the best
In 2010, he faced he and his team’s longtime nemesis (Boston Celtics) in the quest of his 5th ring. The Lakers were up 2-0 after the first 2 and needed 2 more wins to secure the championship. During the post-game conference of game 2, one of the reporters noticed Kobe wasn’t smiling or as jubilant as expected being up 2-0.

Reporter: I'm still waiting for a big smile out of you. You're up 2-0. What's the story? Are you not happy or...

Mamba (pursed lips and serious demeanor): What's there to be happy about?

Reporter: You're up 2-0.

Mamba: The job's not finished. The job finished? No, I don't think so.
