The historicity of Jesus is a matter of debate. I tend to think that there probably was a Jewish preacher that was somewhat different than the average one of the time. However, over time he became legend and all sorts of powers and miracles were ascribed to him. In addition, Greek, Roman and Egyptian influence converted him in what he became.
Interesting view. As more and more evidences are unearthed, we will soon learn more about who the real Jesus was. What's baffling is that he never wrote a single gospel or text. If your mission is to spread the word of God, would you write something in addition to just preaching? Not a single document authored by him. Mind-blowing!
