Recently, several world important leaders have visited Antarctica. I am not aware of the true reason of such trips. Once thing is a fact: Antarctica is unexplored by our civilization. The fact that several Portolan maps (14th-15th century maps) show the vast continent has to be a smoking gun for an older, (unknown to us) civilization.
