Oprah Winfrey running for president is not a good idea.
When Oprah Winfrey was awarded the Cecile B. de Mille award at the last Golden Globes, she gave a great speech about her life and Hollywood through a prism of women’s rights. She went over the sexual harassment storm that is tearing up Hollywood, and said quite empowering things about women.
Of course, the audience made of actors clapped and roared during her speech. They also practiced their acting chops with tear-filled eyes and “I am woke” face.
Eventually a twitter hashtag called #Oprah2020 started trending, and the entire Hollywood rallied behind it.
There has been speculation that Oprah is “actively thinking” about running.
President and Oprah are two words that don’t go together.
The office of the President of the United States isn’t a popularity contest where inexperienced celebrities can just sit because they are “kind, and compassionate.”
Giving a great speech doesn’t qualify you to be the leader of the free world. What does qualify you to run for president is deep knowledge of domestic and foreign policy, the ins and outs of American politics, and a track record that shows the candidate has brought meaningful change to society. And Oprah fails in 2 and a half of those criteria.
A good candidate for president would be an unglamorous senator or governor with great political chops and vast experience, not a well-known celebrity with no knowledge and experience.

I disagree: Oprah is a great candidate for President of the United States!
She's one of the greatest net-success stories in the world, coming from nothing and growing to be currently valued at $2.8 billion (comparable to Donald Trump, but she was given NOTHING so her valuation is more significant imho).
She attended uni on full tuition scholarship, has honorary doctorate degrees from Duke and Harvard, and is EXTREMELY educated.
She is a philanthropist, and as such works greatly to help those in need, and support those who are different, or trapped in this late-stage capitalist society. She's a proponant of equality, and is FIERCE.
What more could you want in a U.S. Presidential candidate?
