Can kittens have goat's milk? [TRIGGER's short story]

in #kitten6 years ago (edited)

Nowadays, most people know that kittens should not get cow's milk because most cats are lactose intolerant, they get constipation, or diarrhea,or suffer from stomach cramps. Moreover the calcium in cow's milk is linked to causing urinary tract problems.
In some cases the problem is not the lactose in the cow's milk, but a component called Casein that some cats are allergic to. Goat's milk has less Casein than cow's milk thus may cause fewer problems in cats that are allergic to Casein.

Have you heard that cats should drink goat’s milk? Can kittens have goat's milk?

Goat’s milk is more easily digestible due to Goat's milk has smaller fat globules (molecular size) which it is easier to digest than cow's milk, but we have to still remember that this is not a natural food for them.

Normally kittens should get their mom's milk or kitten milk replace. They don't need other kind of milk but you maybe adopt the kittens that you cannot find their mothers or a wet-nurse cat for them. We can use kitten milk replacer but the goat's milk is a better choice than cow's milk if you cannot find cat'milk or kitten milk replacer.

In my personal experience,I also cannot find cat's milk but I tested by giving her a teaspoon goat's milk at a time and monitor the litter box. When I ensue she doesn't have signs of diarrhea or constipation, I'll give a bowl of goat's milk to her.

AG-Science Gold Plus Colostrum Milk for Puppy&Kitten is the goat's milk that I chose for her.
