The first king of Israel: The Spirit of the LORD will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them

The Bible in the First Book of Samuel tells us about the appearance of the first king of Israel, Saul, after the end of the government of the judges. This period of history in the Bible marks the passage from the Aristocracy to the monarchy, whose culmination would be David and Solomon; but after this, the monarchy would pass to the tyranny with Rehoboam and the division of the Kingdom in two.
And so, in the times of the prophet Samuel, the people of Israel wanted to have a king like all the peoples of the earth, a king who would ensure peace and justice and in whose person the divine virtues would be incarnated; and that is how God agreed to the request of the people, giving his blessing to a member of the tribe of Benjamin, named Saul.
But before being crowned King, Saul was anointed by the prophet Samuel, and it is thus that Saul received the spirit of the Lord to fulfill a divine mission and defeat the enemies of Israel; Saul more than a good administrator was, first of all, a good warrior. This is how a teaching of the Book of Proverbs is fulfilled: "In the LORD'S hand the king's heart is a stream of water that he channels toward all who please him" Proverbs 21:1.
After anointing him, the prophet Samuel prophesied to Saul the arrival of the spirit: "The Spirit of the LORD will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person. Once these signs are fulfilled, do whatever your hand finds to do, for God is with you" 1 Samuel 10:6-7.
These signs described by the Bible show us that Saul was a providential leader like David and Solomon. At Mizpah, finally, by God's choice and in front of Samuel and all the people of Israel, Saul was acclaimed king.
