Although, as you say, the city is dark and gray, you could portray a moment of peace and light, in this picture, because fishing is finding yourself, it is being one with nature.
Very well said @fabian98! I don't have that experience of 'being one with nature' but I can imagine it feels that way if you do it right. Are you a fisher then? :-)
I used to fly fish. It was very zen. Standing in rivers or on shores quietly tossing the line out. The different birds you'd see depending on time of day and location. And when you'd catch even the tiniest of fish on a fly rod, it feels like a whale. I always was a catch and release, though. Again, sort of 'zen'. I hope to do it again one day.
Yes, if I observe fishing it always comes across as a very 'zen' activity! :-) Amazing you did it. If I were to do it I would catch and release too :-) Other people can try to catch my meal ;-)
