KillerPix Contest #34 || May Flowers - Dianthus
Dianthus barbatus are among the first flowers blossoming in May. Sweet William as known by everybody, is a biennial plant, meaning that its beauty will not last forever.
These beautiful flowers are edible and may have medicinal properties. They attract birds and all sort of insects.
Fun fact about this flower: at her wedding Kate Middleton included Sweet William in her bouquet as a tribute to the bridegroom.
The above photos are not part of a royal bouquet but from my humble garden and were taken last year in May. :)
