Killerpix Contest - Autumn - Entry 1 - Ginkgo Leaves
This is from last year as the leaves are just starting to turn. Ginkgo leaves turn a brilliant yellow in the fall, but here they lie carpeting a path on the grounds of a temple in south Osaka.

Very nice. We have a beautiful Ginkgo tree nearby. I'll have to get a shot of it one day. Of course autumn here in Tasmania is months away.
About 6 months away! Yes, ginkgoes have beautiful bright yellow leaves in the fall, and super smelly fruit!
Bonus trivia that you probably already know: most ginkgoes planted in urban areas are male because they don't produce that nasty smelling fruit!

Very much so, I think they may be Osaka Prefecture's "Prefectural tree" as there are quite a few planted about the city, starting about now, they're turning yellow. Looks great on the larger avenues with the ginkgoes on each side.
