Killer Pix Photography Contest: Fireworks

in #killerpix6 years ago (edited)

This entry for the #killerpix photography contest hosted by #thealliance is of one of my nieces on July 4th. Several people from our neighborhood tend to gather at a friends house in the cul-de-sac for some adult beverages while all the kids play together. While we definitely tend to buy a ridiculous amount of fireworks to put on a big show for the neighborhood, there was something in the store this time that caught our eye.

Giant sparklers shaped like AR15s is what drew us in and we ended up buying out the rest of what they had in stock which was about 20 or so. The kids absolutely loved playing with these things, heck the adults even got a kick out of them. Above you can see one of my nieces having a blast with it.

Nice shot! Love the bokeh balls in the background.

There aren't any of those up here in Minnesota. If you want good fireworks, you have to cross the border into Wisconsin or the Dakotas.

thanks bud, I never understand locales that don't allow sales of fireworks or alcohol requiring you to cross county or state lines to do so, ridiculous. Hope you had a safe 4th up there!

They only legalized fireworks sales here about 15 years ago, and only for sparklers and similar smaller ones. Kids used to get in trouble for bottle rockets and Roman candles, when I was growing up... Lol
