The Angostura Bridge, on the Orinoco River in the Guayana Region, was inaugurated by President Raúl Leoni on January 6, 1967. At that time it was the ninth bridge in the world and the largest in South America.

It is located 5 km. approximately from Ciudad Bolívar, crossing the Orinoco River, in its narrowest zone and connecting the Anzoátegui and Bolívar states.
