Beautiful city of Kiev
Kiev - one of the largest cities in Ukraine, is located on the Dnieper River, has its own flag, a rowing and a symbol - a chestnut leaf. There are a lot of chestnuts in the city. There are 68 nationalities in the city. More than 80 percent of the population - indigenous people - Ukrainians.
In total there are 6 railway stations in Kiev, three airports: Boryspil, Antonov, Kiev. This city is one of the purest and greenest in Ukraine. Forests and parks make up a large part of its area. There are two large botanical gardens. A lot of exhibitions, film festivals and shows are arranged by the capital.
Kiev has about 450 general educational institutions, 70 universities. The most prestigious are the National Taras Shevchenko University and the Kiev-Mohyla Academy.
Tolitsa is famous for its famous Khreshchatyk - the main street, which according to historical data is close to the place where Prince Vladimir baptized his family. The street began its construction in the 18th century, and only by the end of the 19th century it became a full-fledged street. There are a lot of boutiques, offices, places of rest. During the war the street was badly damaged, but was soon rebuilt. They say that in this area you can often see a UFO.
In addition to Khreshchatyk there is another popular street - Andreevsky Descent. Walking along this street, you can feel yourself in a museum, here everything is bohemian, old, it seems even air and wind from those ancient times of the 19th century. Here is the St. Andrew's Church, the sculpture of Ivan Kavaleridze, the castle of Richard. Mikhail Bulgakov lived on this street in his time. In his house now is a museum. Nearby - a monument dedicated to the writer.
One of the most famous buildings is a house with chimeras. It is built in the Art Nouveau style, and its facades are decorated with extraordinary animals and real creatures. A similar house is no longer found around the world!
The Kiev-Pechersky Holy Assumption Monastery is located on the right bank in the hills. It is a large and significant monastery, which began its existence in the form of a small cave. During the Patriotic War the cathedral was heavily destroyed due to the explosion. And only by 2000 the cathedral was completely restored.
The monument of the construction of the 12th century - the Golden Gate - is one of the few preserved from ancient times to the present. This huge, impregnable structure was built to enter Kiev.
