Meow Wolf: Bring Your Kid Here!

Okay, so we may be addicted. Having went last week to the amazing Meow Wolf in Santa Fe and been completely mesmerized, we decided we were in need of a repeat visit. We wanted to delve further into unraveling the mysteries of The House of Eternal Return. But we also wanted to bring our precocious two year old to the exhibit.

After having our son, we discovered there are two ways to enjoy things now: a. enjoying a moment or experience as one usually would and b. enjoying watching our kid enjoying things.
The latter can be a more fulfilling type of joy and is one of my favorite things about parenthood. Everytime I truly appreciate a food, experience, place, or thing, it is amplified a million times over when I get to see my son delighting in it as well.

Which is why we were so quick to bring our little one to this amazing interactive art museum. They state on their website that it is a delight for all ages, and I couldn't agree more. Our two year old was immersed in the wonder of the place. And while still too young to really enjoy the mysterious storyline buried in all the art, he was mesmerized by the abounding color. My husband did note that kids in the preteen stage of like about, 10 to 12, seemed utterly enthralled by the mystery aspect of Meow Wolf. Collecting clues and truly immersing themselves in the plot made all of the kiddos we saw giddy with glee.

So one day he may grow to love this place for its enigmas and anomalies, but for now he is just absolutely delighted to be not just able, but encouraged, to touch things otherwise off limits to him, to crawl around with his parents, and to play freely in a place of such immense vibrancy.

Meow Wolf is a perfect destination for people of all ages, truly. From the tactile toddlers, to curious kids, even teenagers who are difficult to get engaged at times are open to the novelty of this place. And of course us adults love it too.
