How to avoid arguments with a 14 Year old

The previous Monday he got home and get attacked by his wife! Nobody cares about me, your son is rude and and insults me. He got our of the car and kicked the dustbin for no reason at all.

Is this you or very similar to you? If yes, you most likely have a 13 year old or 14 year old in your home who finds ways to argue with you for no reason at all. Take a step back and see the argument coming. Don't fuel the little flame by pouring oil onto it. You can argue very badly to prove your point, but you kid just wanted to challenge the world and have his say an din that moment is prepared to fight any battle to be right.
I say, Yes son, I don't quite agree with your view but lets go play some ball, ride a bike, or do something he likes. When you come back to the same issue later you can discuss it calm and easy and get your point across without being forceful. Do it in love and you will always get a good result. Try to force the issue and see where it gets you.
